8. Belvedere

​Belvedere
The word means “beautiful view” in Italian, but it originally helped keep the house cool. When the windows were open, the wooden vents funneled hot air up and out of the house. The house still has the original tin roof though it is coated to prevent leaking. Enjoy a rooftop view from the belvedere!
